About Chef Derek G's Kitchen
As a fully cooked meal ordering option that provides fresh ingredients and generous "five family" and "dinner for two" meal portions, we stand out from other meal kit companies as a viable and affordable alternative for local families and busy-bodies!
Company History
Chef Derek G's Kitchen was founded as Crockpot Creations in 2019 and was in development as a local delivery operation and food pick-up service by customer demand. It has grown to include older, "customer favorites" recipes from its sister company, Manor Bar & Grille's classic menu, as well as it's own family meals prepared at the Manor Grille location near Westmoreland City.
The Kitchen CrewWe are a small but mighty group from Western Pennsylvania passionate about local businesses and serving the community. Our combined skills make for one heck of a recipe!
Chef Derek Gutkowski grew up in the Southside of Pittsburgh and served four years in the Navy on the USS Pasadena. After attending the Pennsylvania Culinary Institute, he earned his executive chef status and went on to cook at and manage various operations at Grandview Golf Club in North Braddock, Pa. where he met his wife, Megan. After nearly 10 years at Grandview, Derek and Megan struck out on their own, purchasing the building that would become Manor Bar & Grille. Derek still manages Manor Grille by coordinating menu specials, cooking and operating catering services.
Megan Kreiling Gutkowski grew up in North Braddock, Pa. and earned her associate's at the Community College of Allegheny County (CCAC) before attaining her bachelor's degree in Communications at Point Park University. Megan believes in the spirit of community and has been an active member of Penn Township throughout her residency. Some of her past experience in local government includes formerly serving as a member of Manor Borough's council, the Manor Civil Service Commission and acting as treasurer for Manor Recreation Board. She is currently a member of Penn Township Ambulance Board and still manages and promotes the restaurant. You will often see Megan, Derek and their three children helping out every Saturday for their weekly fundraiser, the Penn Township Fundraiser.
Candace Howell - Williams grew up in Delmont and Jeannette, Pa. and has worked for family-owned and -oriented businesses all of her life, including Manor Bar & Grille. She graduated in 2018 with a Bachelors in Journalism and Public Relations and is currently employed as the Digital Marketing and Social Media Advertising Manager at the marine industry manufacturing company, E-Z Anchor Puller, as well as A.S.W Electrical Renovations and Crockpot Creations. Candace enjoys many things, but cooking is not one of them (which is why crockpots are awesome, duh!) When she is not tending her forest of house plants or watching Netflix, she is probably at Manor Grille with her husband drinking coffee or shopping at Home Depot.
Tory Saddler is a graphic design artist with a background in construction and large-scale detailing work. She graduated from Seton Hill University with a degree in Photography.
